One of the toughest things to do with podcasts is go back and find that moment that stood out to you.

Not anymore.

I just got the show listed on Podspun. A platform that allows you to search through podcast episodes to find the golden nuggets you might have forgotten. If you’ve ever remembered a conversation from the show but couldn’t remember which episode it came from, this tool is designed to solve that problem. You can search topics, keywords, and even ask questions that pull answers directly from past episodes and guest conversations.

I sat down with Kim Andrysczyk, a former teacher turned homeschool mom, and someone who’s willing to engage honestly with the growing conversations happening around homeschooling today. Instead of reacting defensively to criticism from homeschool alumni, Kim shares why listening matters, what she wishes she’d known earlier, and how families can create healthier learning environments moving forward.

In this episode, we talked about homeschooling children with learning differences, navigating dyslexia, the emotional tension of being both parent and teacher, and what happened when homeschooling stopped working for one of her kids. We also explored authoritarian parenting, accountability within homeschooling, and why alumni stories deserve a seat at the table as more adults begin reflecting publicly on their homeschool experiences.

We’re 2 weeks into bookclub. How are things going? Where are you in the book?

I’m about halfway through the book and a few things have really stuck out to me on this second read through.

This book really reads as a novel. Which I think makes it easier to read. And I find myself really placing myself in Stefan’s shoes.

Secondly, it’s got me re-examining my childhood. Did my parents do a good job socializing me? Was I isolated and lonely? I’m not saying that they didn’t but I’m taking time to relive those moments and embrace the feelings that come with it.
